Now that 22 Scars is alive and well, making its way through the readerverse and garnering reviews (however slowly), I thought it might be about time to start refocusing some attention on my alter-ego, Satis, and my ongoing fantasy work, The Redemption of Erâth.
If you aren’t aware, before I started working intently on 22 Scars (though after the idea for 22 Scars initially came to me), I started working on an epic fantasy series called The Redemption of Erâth. It all started in 2011 with NaNoWriMo, and initially came into being as a short novella entitled History of Erâth. In it, I described the detailed history of a world called Erâth, and how Darkness came to rule over all the lands.
Several years later, the first true novel was published: Consolation. This was my first attempt at a true novel, and although it was self-published (as have been all my works so far), I’m proud of how it came out. It was a cozy, dark story that hinted at a much larger world of evil and corruption, about an orphaned boy named Brandyé and his tragic adventures.
Then in 2016, I released the sequel, Exile. Picking up essentially where Consolation left off, it told the continuation of the story of Brandyé, now exiled from his homeland and left to wander on the coast of a black and dead sea. Exile picked up the pace from Consolation somewhat, accelerating to a climactic finale where Brandyé finds himself face-to-face with Death, alone in snowy wastelands and abandoned to his fate.
And that brings us to today. Over the past two years, I’ve written and completed the third installment, now called Ancients & Death. I’m still working on editing it at the moment, but what I’ve written is by far the most engaging, intriguing and dramatic book of the Redemption of Erâth series so far. It sees the rise and fall of lords, kingdoms, and entire continents, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
To that extent, I will be publishing each chapter from Ancients & Death every few days for the next few months over at my sister site, satiswrites.com. Feel free to head over there to check out the progress of this epic fantasy series, and to delve into the world of Erâth.
Additionally, to encourage you to see what The Redemption of Erâth is like, I’m offering a free copy of both Consolation and Exile to anyone who requests it—just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and I’ll be happy to pass on a copy!
Lastly, I want to point out that I won’t be abandoning 22 Scars or my work here—I’ll continue to post updates on the progress of selling and spreading the word about my young adult work, and my thoughts on those things that are relevant there: mostly topics such as mental health and depression.
