Song: I’m Drowning

This is the third song written for my upcoming novel, The Broken. Called “I’m Drowning”, it’s about the depression influenced by domestic abuse suffered by singer Malcolm James growing up.

I
Am
Lost in the black
Of another heart attack
Gone way off track
And I didn’t ever ask
For the shit that you give me
And you only want to hit me
With the back of your hand
I’m so far from land
Treading in a sea
Of fucked up duplicity

The highs
And the lows
That no
One ever knows
And the face
You don’t see
Cause my tears
Are just for me
And all
Of it leads
To the end
Of the road

So why don’t you just let me
Drown

I’m Drowning – The Broken

Tell me what you think!
