Dear (future) readers,
My name is Chris. I am a (currently) unpublished author, working on a manuscript for a novel that has been boiling away in my brain for over a decade. It’s a story that is deeply personal to me, and relates much of the emotional turmoil I knew as a young man.
What, you may ask, makes this any different from the thousands of other would-be novelists in the world, each hungrily seeking to get their own work into the hands of ever-picky readers? What makes me qualified to tell this story, when it may have already been told by greater minds than mine?
I am no mental health professional. I am no therapist. But I can offer an unfiltered glimpse into the mind of the severely depressed, because I have been there myself. I have lived through, and survived, much of what takes place in this story. And so in a way it is my story, even though it’s also the story of a young girl named Amy.
You’ll hear more about Amy as I begin to update this blog. You’ll hear more about the story, and about the many pitfalls I encountered writing it. And hopefully, you’ll hear about my path to publication—however long that might take!
For now, click on to the next post to learn more about who I am, and what I do.
Many thanks for stopping by!
